About Us

The Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio was founded in 1966 by a group of concerned physicians and community leaders who realized there was a need to provide assistance to people with kidney disease. As an independent, not-for-profit health agency, the Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio is dedicated to helping people address the total problem of kidney disease and related disorders through:

• Direct and indirect family services.
• Working cooperatively with the treatment team.
• Making the community aware of the warning signs and the importance of early detection.
• Advocating for the rights of the kidney patient.
• Promoting organ and tissue donation.
• Supporting research in kidney disease and related disorders.

The Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio works for you through Patient Services, Education, Volunteerism, Research and Development.

Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio (KFNWO) respects the privacy of its donors and has put in place a Donor Privacy Policy to honor your rights. We collect donor information for internal purposes only. We do not share any of your personal or contact information with any outside organization. KFNWO keeps record of donors' giving history. This information is kept on file for IRS purposes and is not available for public inspection. Some donors' names may be published in recognition materials and media unless a donor chooses that his/her name not be listed. KFNWO does not/sell to, trade, or share its donor list with any organization.
